ARTS ON THE EDGE 2011 SEASON EVENTS (Made possible in part by a grant from the Putnam Foundation of the New Hampshire Charitable Trust)

  • Sculpture in the Park exhibit in Cate Park featured sculptors from New England Sculptors Association from June 24 – September 6, 2011.
  • Free Sculpting Clay Workshop on July 9, 2011 at 10:00 am on the lawn of FCCW.
  • Northeastern Ballet Theatre presented a free performance in Cate Park on Sunday, July 3 at 6:30pm.
  • “Singing Words: Celebrating Poetry, Music, and the Creative Spirit”
    (This event was made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities Council and Governor Wentworth Arts Council)
    August 9:
    1:00 p.m. at The Pinckney Boathouse at Brewster Academy there was a poetry reading by Bar Harbor poet, Christian Barter, who also conducted a workshop entitled “What Place Is This? The Unanswered Question in Poetry.” At 7:00 p.m. was Wordsong at the Sandy Martin Gallery in Wolfeboro.
  • Saturday, August 13 at 10 am, sculptor and UCC minister Charles McCollough gave a tour of the sculptures in Cate Park. Some of his works were on display during the weekend at First Congregational Church Wolfeboro. Mr. McCollough also be preached the 10 am service at FCCW on 8/14, with a lecture/discussion to follow.
